The BCM PrimeStorage RP1, F-type is a manual storage system designed for rotary dies and printing plates (stereos / Clichés). It is one of the most trusted manual storage solutions in the corrugated industry. Designed for optimal space utilization and long-term performance in environments with limited floor space. Its robust construction, user-friendly operation, and smart design make it a highly efficient and cost-effective alternative to fully automated systems.

Optimized space and smart operation

This single-rack layout with an front-mounted, manually operated crane is ideal for production areas where a dual-rack system is not feasible. The crane does not rotate and when not in use, it can be “parked” higher up to allow free passage in front of the storage.

This storage type accommodates both single and double rotary dies, depending on customer preference. For small rotary dies, BCM recommends the vertical hanging solution: BCM PrimeRack R1-2, MV-type.
Printing plates are placed on the lowest level of the storage and are handled manually.

While this PrimeStorage system is manually operated and does not include the automated software of SmartStorage or AutoStorage solutions, it is engineered with smart design elements that support safe and efficient handling.

The storage structure is built primarily from galvanized steel, while the crane and crane rails are constructed using a combination of aluminum, galvanized steel, and powder-coated steel for long-lasting durability and mechanical precision.

Operator-guided efficiency

The crane is fully guided by the operator. It moves manually along the overhead rails, while vertical sleigh movement is motor-assisted for efficient lifting and lowering. This enables the operator to handle tools smoothly and safely—especially in tall storage setups.
A camera monitor supports precise positioning of the gripper when picking up or placing dies or plates, minimizing the risk of collisions or damage.

Efficient tool handling with trolleys

The storage trolleys are designed to hold three double-dies or four single-dies or multiple ASP8 profiles as standard. Customized trolleys can be designed to accommodate both rotary dies and printing plates in a combined setup or to meet specific needs. Each trolley is mounted on wheels and designed for easy maneuvering by a single operator.

During operation, the operator brings the trolley directly into the storage area and places it within arm’s reach. This minimizes walking distance, reduces physical strain, and significantly enhances efficiency during loading and unloading.
