ASP8 Stereo Profile

The principle of using the ASP8 stereo profile is that all printing plates associated with the same job are assigned to the same profile. Most jobs require between one and four printing plates, though occasionally more, which means multiple jobs may share the same profile. When several jobs are linked to a single ASP8 profile and one of those jobs is requested at the production line, all associated printing plates for that profile are retrieved—even if some are not needed for the current task.

The BCM control system software enables the operator to immediately determine whether the required printing plates are currently in storage or deployed. Each plate has a dedicated, uniquely identifiable storage location, making it straightforward to locate any specific printing plate when needed.

Each ASP8 stereo profile is equipped with a unique RFID chip, allowing the system to continuously track its exact location. In the fully automated storage solutions, the system will instantly detect if a printing plate has been misplaced — preventing errors caused by manual handling.

As an alternative to the automatic systems, BCM also supports customers who wish to use the ASP8 profile in manual storage environments. This is entirely feasible, and many customers choose this setup. BCM manufactures trolleys specifically designed to accommodate the ASP8 profile, allowing the operator to slide the profile directly into the trolley without any lifting. This ensures efficient, ergonomic handling even in fully manual workflows.
