Safety Back Stops

Our mechanical safety back stops prevent dies from falling, ensuring easy and safe placement of the BCM storage anywhere in the factory, even if work and traffic is performed on the back-side of the racks.

The safety system is available for both rotary die and flatbed die storages.

Safety Back Stops for Secure Die Storage

Adding safety back stops to your storage system provides a physical barrier that prevents dies from falling behind the rack. Although the risk is already low, back stops completely eliminate this potential hazard, significantly improving overall safety.

The back stops suit both rotary die storage and flatbed die storage systems. Moreover, they can be retrofitted to existing storage installations, making them a flexible and cost‑effective safety upgrade.

Safety Back Stops for Rotary Die Storage

For rotary die storage systems, BCM installs upright back stops on the rear side of each column. This design ensures that:

  • Dies cannot be pushed backward
  • Falling risks are fully eliminated

To guarantee compatibility, BCM positions the uprights to accommodate the longest possible die within each rack or column.

Safety Back Stops for Flatbed Die Storage

For flatbed die storage systems, BCM installs horizontal back stops behind each cassette or die level. As a result:

  • Dies and cassettes remain securely in place
  • The risk of backward movement is completely removed

The safety bars are positioned to support the maximum die length, ensuring safe storage under all operating conditions.

Optional Full Rear Enclosure

As an alternative safety solution, BCM steel cladding walls can fully enclose the rear of the rack. This option provides maximum protection while improving containment and overall system security.
